"Sheikh Hasina's Bangladesh, hunger will go missing" was a food-friendly program run by the Food Department, distributing food grains at low prices.
Rice has been distributed to the poorest families at the rate of Tk 10 per kg at the rate of 30 kg per month. The distribution of rice started after 9 months in Malkhanagar union of Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj around 9:30 am on Monday.
The tea will be distributed three days a week for three months. The rice is being distributed in 14 unions of the upazila in phases.
Anwar Hossain, proprietor of Malkhanagar dealer Anwar Traders, said the distribution of rice among 322 families has started since yesterday. The rice will be given till September, October and November. After that it will be closed for 3 months, then again distribution will start from March-2022.
District council member Haji Mirza Haider Nekbar, upazila agriculture assistant officer and tag officer Safayet Hossain, Malkhanagar union Awami League president Anisur Rahman Mridha and others were present during the distribution of rice from Taltola Bazar Rexstand Hall Market yesterday.
