Nazmul Alam, Tongibari correspondent: A woman named Khadija Begum (50) was killed in a dispute over kitchen smoke in Munshiganj. The incident took place at VT Maldha village in Tongibari upazila on Sunday.
According to sources, the pearl dealer of VT Maldha village in Tongibari upazila had a long-running dispute with his neighbor Ramzan dealer over land issues. The two sides got into an argument over the kitchen wash on Sunday evening. Khadija Begum was killed when her neighbors Ramzan, Ali Islam, Anwar and Avi attacked her.
According to eyewitness accounts, Ramadan first beat Khadija with bamboo. Later, Ramzan kicked Khadija Begum in the stomach and she was seriously injured. He was later rescued and taken to Tongibari Health Complex Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
In this regard, local UP member Ibrahim said, the main reason for the dispute was the smoke in the kitchen. Khadija was killed due to that dispute.
Tongibari Police Station OC Mahbub Alam said the body of the deceased was recovered and brought to Tongibari Police Station. 4 people have been arrested in this incident. A case is being filed at the police station.
The deceased was identified as Khadija Begum, 50, wife of Muktar Bepari of VT Malda village. The deceased Khadija Begum has three daughters and one son. He had been suffering from various complex diseases for a long time.
