The ferry Birshreshtha Jahangir collided again with the 1-B span between the 2nd and 3rd poles of the Padma Bridge. At this time the mast of the ferry was broken. The incident took place on Tuesday (August 31) at around 8:15 am. However, it was not immediately known whether there was any damage to the Padma bridge. It is learned that the ferry was going from Shimulia to Paturia.
It is to be mentioned that on August 9, Bir Shrestha Jahangir, a row upon row, hit the same pillar. Besides, the ferry hit the pillar of Padma Bridge on the way from Banglabazar Ghat twice more. On July 20 and 23, he hit the 16th and 17th pillars. In these incidents, GD, investigation committee has been formed and ferry drivers have been suspended.
